Painting Kitchen Cabinets and walls, color ideas?

Cabinets are not in great shape and they are not real wood, they are that veneer stuff so I am going to paint them. I am also painting the walls. My floor is reddish brown hardwood, maybe cherry. Do you have any ideas on what color I could paint the cabinets and walls to make it look good with my floor?

It depends on your style and the rest of the color choices throughout your Home. I prefer white cabinets but an alternative choice to white that looks really nice is when you paint them white and then paint back over them with a chocolate glaze so that it gives the cabinets an antiqued finish. As for your wall colors this is a personal choice. I recently painted my kitchen green with white cabinets and I love it. The color I chose was Bamboo Shoot by Valspar Hi Def from Lowe’s; other good color choices could be a garnet with white or antiqued cabinets or Brown Suede which is more of a Hershey’s chocolate color with the antiqued cabinets. Go to a Home Improvement store such as Lowe’s or Home Depot and look through their color samples to get a feel for what color would fit your home the best.
